The best way to tackle this finishing hole is to think it through from the green backwards. It's essential that your approach shot be hit from a position so you can get a good look at the pin. Thus, the second shot has to be played just so. From the tee, cut the corner as much as you dare to but watch the lake. The more you cut off, the narrower the fairway becomes. Also, be sure you're playing to the eighteenth flag and not the ninth. It's almost impossible to see the flag until you're within 120 yards. The green slopes toward the front, so stay out of the deep hollow behind the green. |
